At UCPNB & the North Bay Recycle Zone, we are committed to providing innovative recycling services tailored to community needs. From CRV to specialized commercial solutions, our goal is to support community sustainability and reduce environmental impact through responsible waste management.
Film plastics can be one of the most difficult plastics to recycle because it is not commonly accepted in the curbside recycling carts. Because they differ from other more rigid plastics, they must be recycled through specialized programs, and without one, most people have to put their film plastics into the landfill. According to studies conducted in Marin & Sonoma Counties in recent years, anywhere from 7-20% of our local landfills consist of these film plastics.
To address this growing issue in our community, UCPNB's Re-Cycle Network is taking on the task of collecting, consolidating, and facilitating the recycling process for these film plastics to do our part in keeping these materials out of the landfill, increase recyclability rates, and provide essential sustainability infrastructure to our partners.
As we build this program, we are asking commercial businesses fill out this interest form to provide the basic information we need. We will work with commercial businesses to build a comprehensive program to meet the needs of our partners.
